Natural Dyes on Cotton, Silk and Wool - Dyeing
Process
Sequence of Process :

Scouring for Cotton Process , Degumming Process for Silk |

and washing of Wool is as usual. |
| 2.
Bleaching Process with Hydrogen Peroxide is the same. |
3. Mordanting : The cloth or yarn is treated with 40 gm/lit.
CANARY POWDER locally called MULTANI MITTI ie. For 1kg. Material liquid
ratio for cotton 1: 20, for wool 1:30 and for silk 1:40 MULTANI MITTI
is calculated. For 1 lit. of water 40gm. Suppose water is 20 lits.,
800 gms. MULTANI MITTI powder is pasted with luke warm water and the
whole solution is made by adding more water and kept in a bigger vessel.
The material is treated for one hour and then fabric or yarn is squeezed
and dried carefully so that it may not touch with any iron which gives
stain.
4. Treatment with Minerals : The fabric or yarn after drying
and dusting is treated with different minerals for getting different
shades :

Take a small quantity of water , boil it and put dye into boiling water
for 2 minutes .After dissolving 1:20 hot water, dip mineral treated
cloth work in it for 15 to 30 minutes at boiling stage and then remove
the cloth and wash it with cold water.
